An international agricultural technology company is expanding its global presence and is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its European operations. Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy & Market Development
- Develop and execute long-term business strategies and annual operating plans for the European market
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities
- Define market positioning and go-to-market strategies for innovative agricultural solutions
Brand Leaders
- Build and strengthen the company’s reputation as a leading agricultural technology and innovation platform
- Develop strategic branding initiatives and thought-leadership programs targeting industry stakeholders
- Enhance visibility through industry publications, technical content, conferences, and strategic partnerships
Product & Innovation Management
- Collaborate with R&D, technical experts, and commercial teams to drive the localization and commercialization of agricultural technologies
- Support the development of market-oriented product solutions tailored to regional agronomic needs
- Identify opportunities for technology transfer and innovation partnerships
Industry Relations & Partnerships
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with industry associations, research institutions, government agencies, and key opinion leaders
- Represent the company at major international conferences, forums, and industry events.
- Foster collaboration opportunities with global agricultural organizations and partners.
Marketing & Communications
- Lead integrated marketing and communication strategies across online and offline channels
- Oversee corporate communications, media engagement, and brand reputation management.
- Ensure consistent messaging and effective stakeholder engagement.
Digital Transformation
- Promote the adoption of digital tools and platforms to improve communication, knowledge sharing, and business efficiency
- Drive data-driven decision-making processes and cross-functional collaboration.
Leadership & Team Management
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing international team.
- Establish talent development programs and succession planning initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative, performance-driven, and innovation-oriented culture.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience in agriculture-related industries, preferably crop protection, fertilizers, crop nutrition, biologicals, or agricultural technology
- Proven experience in senior marketing, branding, business management, or general management roles.
- Strong track record of developing and scaling brands, products, or business units.
- Experience working with multinational organizations and international stakeholders
Preferred Background
- Experience with leading global agricultural companies, such as those in crop science, fertilizer, crop nutrition, or agricultural-tech sectors.
- Exposure to European agricultural markets and regulatory environments.
- Experience managing cross-border teams and multicultural environments.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong strategic thinking and commercial leadership capabilities
- Excellent stakeholder management and public representation skills.
- Ability to bridge technical innovation with market needs.
- Strong communication and influencing skills across different organizational levels.
- Fluent English is required; German is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Agriculture, Agronomy, Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
